Sooner than you realize, it’s going to be holiday party time. And that means you’ll want at least one stand-out, drop dead gorgeous dress that makes people go “oh, hey, look how good SHE looks.” So, this holiday season you should make a pact with yourself to shine. Shine in sequins! Sequin dresses under 100 dollars are out there. And I’m going to guide you to some of the fashionable (as opposed to grossly tacky) options out there for you.Sequined Dresses Under 100

Calvin Klein Sequin Front Mesh Dress from Zappos, here. This sequin dress is why I love Calvin Klein. It’s so effortless and easy and sexy without looking fussy or overworked. It oozes sex appeal, and yet it’s a semi-long dress! It has a flapper dress kind of feel to it, even though there’s no fringe. But it’s the right shape, cut, and length. This dress is definitely made for a party. The back is plain black, as to not overkill the sequined dress look.
You don’t have to be Taylor Swift to see the appeal of sparkly dresses. They’re just plain fun to wear. I’ve used my vast resources (my resources = good taste and the internet) to find six sparkly dresses for you guys to check out here. And I’ve made sure they’re all dresses under $100.00. (Mostly because I don’t want any of you going broke. A good friend does not tease with dresses worth thousands of dollars. And I think we’re good friends.)
Beauty tip: Don’t wear sparkly eyeshadow with a sparkly dress. If you want to play up your eyes, go for metallic colors with a matte look. Otherwise, I hate to say it, but you’ll look like a festive party pinata .(For more about how to achieve metallic eyes, go to my guide here. Making a fun cat eye with metallic Urban Decay eyeliner would be a great look for most of these dresses.)
Style tip: Don’t be nervous to shine and sparkle in the spotlight. You deserve it. The trick to making sure you look great? A confident attitude. And that’s free of charge.
It’s not at all simple to find plus size dresses for special occasions. There was a time when it was impossible to find any sort of decent dress in the plus size category at all. But technology makes it so much easier to find the right dress for you, no matter your size.
Plus size fashion content: As the ShesSmart.com plus size blogger, I decided that we need to see some of the best options for sparkly dresses. I stay away from shiny dresses and large areas of shiny fabric because it tends to accentuate, pull, and tug at all the wrong areas. The last thing you want is to look tacky, and something that’s shiny, tight and short will get you to that dreaded tacky destination very fast. A-line skirts in dresses are very flattering.
Tip: If you are self-conscious about showing off your arms with sleeveless dresses, you can wear a shawl or a short sleeved capelet sweater (crocheted ones will keep you cool.) They are sometimes called shrugs or dolman sleeve shrugs. I have a black one that is useful for endless outfits. Sometimes I pin a brooch on it, even.

Taylor Swift wore a very pretty sparkly Collette Dinnigan dress at the AMA’s, didn’t you love it? Her hair was super straight and long, working with this ultra “sexy” theme. (She also had brand new bangs.)
Tay loves sparkly dresses and is often wearing one at parties or during a performance. Sparkly dresses are absolutely perfect for the holiday season, or even for prom if you want (and are allowed) a sexy dress. I know people always want to know about Taylor Swift dresses for prom.
I found these sparkly dresses that remind me of Taylor Swift dresses:

I may not be a Miley Cyrus fan, but I do like the dress Miley wears in Sex and the City movie 2. Which is a lame move title. Anyway, she’s not the only one who wears the dress, Samantha wears it too. The dress is already in hot demand but after the movie actually plays in theaters it’ll be in even more high demand. As pretty as I think the Matthew Williamson Fall 2009 Futuristic Sequin Cocktail Dress IS, I’m probably not going to fork out the money for it. You can see the Futuristic Sequin Cocktail Dress that is in Sex and the City 2, above. But let’s look at some more realistic options! Because one thing has become clear to me, sparkly party dresses are going to be major.
