I was watching The City on MTV.com the other night and Whitney Port was in an outfit I LOVED. To recreate the look all you need is a silver dress, pearl earrings, pink lipstick, and black nail polish. The beauty products are easier to find, but you can shop around for the silver dress and pearl earrings. I did some shopping online for you and now I’ll share with you what I found. The thing about the pearl earrings that’s important is that they have a little more to them than just being pearl earrings. You’ll see what I mean.

While doing Couples Retreat interviews with Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell said that she loves Rosebud Salve and the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Stick. While I love lip products with SPF (skin protecting filter!) I really adore Mary Kay Satin Lips, because it really makes my lips feel all moisturized. It moisturizes lips for 6 hours so it’s something to wear while you sleep, if like me, you sleep with a fan on. Then in the day you can wear your SPF lip balm products, yay!

If you aren’t afraid to take a trip to the past, Kristen Bell has also said to Marie Claire magazine that she loves C.O.Bigelow Mentha LipBalm. She said,”This has SPF and makes your breath smell nice.” And for over the lip balm? Fresh lip gloss in Sugar Desire and Fusion Beauty Lip Gloss. The latter one is expensive for lip gloss, but I understand why someone like Kristen Bell, who has SMALL lips, would pay big money for a lip gloss that plumps lips. But if your lips are decently sized, you can go for any gloss and it won’t matter TONS. I happen to love Neutrogena lip gloss layered over CoverGirl Outlast Lip Stains.

Why do I (a non celebrity) care about Kristen Bell beauty tips?

Well, if it isn’t obvious… because celebs get to try all SORTS of different products all the time. So they know what works for them and what doesn’t. And money is not an object for them so they can use anything. I’m sure they use some very expensive products, but I love when they’ll publicly endorse a beauty product that I can actually afford.

Well, most of the fashionable items that Bilson told Lucky she likes are super expensive. Of course, I’m used to that with this magazine – or magazines in general. But if you really want something that Rachel Bilson covets, what can you get? Beauty products are less expensive than the leather jacket she’s selected, so let’s look at those.

Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara in Black – $8.  Bilson tells Lucky Magazine, “I love this mascara from Neutrogena. I put it on in the morning and never have to think about.” This seems to be a very popular mascara, I’d try it for sure.  Neutrogena Mascara.

OPI Matte Nail Lacquer in You Don’t Know Jacques – $9. I’m pretty sure you could find this color for half the price. But in lieu of that, the price is right for OPI polishes, I think. Bilson said she liked this color on a shoot. I’ve heard these are easy to apply but also do not last as long as normal polishes. Still, I really like polishes that I can apply easily… I might be willing to make that trade. Style.com says that Chanel is making a plummy-gray-brown matte polish called  Particuliere. And you can bet that will cost a lot more than OPI polishes.  OPI Nail Polish

Kohl’s is so excited about the new LC Lauren Conrad line that they are letting She’s Smart give a $25.00 gift certificate to their store! Lauren Conrad has left The Hills and now she’s pursuing her dream of fashion with her LC Lauren Conrad line at Kohl’s. Even when the show was annoying me, I always could find a compliment for Lauren’s style. Those little braids in her hair? Did you never try to replicate those? Come on, now!

My overall review of this line is that it is modern and cute with lots of great basic’s made by a gal who knows simple fashion tricks that work.

The problem is that you need to really style this t-shirt well or it will look as it does right now: frumpy and unflattering. This is a shirt that will probably only do well with the teen-crowd, those whose stomach’s are straight as a board.  Style Tip: The way to style this is by using a fitted jacket or cardigan over it.
