Lake Champlain Chocolates Review & Giveaway
There is something about chocolate that is just…well, it’s really the best thing EVER. And there’s certainly no better time for chocolate than on February 14th (Valentine’s Day)! Well, that date is approaching. And do I have a chocolate suggestion? Why yes I do. The wonderful people at Lake Champlain Chocolates sent us some of their best gourmet chocolates to sample. Do we like them? I think we devoured them all in less than two days! Reviewing chocolate? That is an absolute pleasure! At least, when it’s good chocolate. And this chocolate? AMAZING. We highly recommend treating yourself or a friend to chocolate THIS good.
We highly recommend treating yourself or a friend to chocolate THIS good.
The Sweetheart Valentine Chocolate Heart 18 pc box comes in an amazing box, of course – you don’t eat the box so that’s just a bonus. With two levels to this box of chocolates, everyone can sample the decadent chocolates. Flavors in this box include: Cherry & Peanut Butter Sensations, Maple Crunch, Evergreen Mint, Honey Caramel, Raspberry Creams, Hazelnut Pralines & Caramel Hearts.
Along with the traditional flavors you expect, you’ll notice some special Vermont-inspired chocolates like the Evergreen Mint (Mmmm, it had such a satisfying crunch), Maple Crunch, Honey Caramel and Green Mountain (in other boxes).
Local Vermont ingredients are used as much as possible at Lake Champlain Chocolates, and you can also visit the brick and mortar stores in Burlington and Waterbury Center, Vermont. If you can’t get up to Vermont, that’s why the website is so handy!
The people at Lake Champlain Chocolates live for chocolate, and aim to improve your day with a little bit of their passion.
We also have the Valentine-appropriate Traditional Valentine Truffles Heart 8 pc box. Again, the box is gorgeous. When you open the box? You’ll gasp, because they look so gosh darn pretty, sprinkled with chocolate and swirls. The actual truffles are very plump, taller than you’d expect. Flavors include Champagne, French Roast, Grande Valencia, Legendary Dark, Vanilla Malt, White Raspberry, All Milk, and Amaretto Praline.
Our favorite of these truffles was the White Raspberry truffle. The bottom 1/3 of the truffle is coated with milk chocolate and the rest is coated with white chocolate. The top is garnished with a dash of a swirl of chocolate while inside you have the whipped cream and butter made right there in Vermont and the raspberry-flavored ganache. It was almost too beautiful to eat, after one bite I had to hesitate before the next. But preserving the beauty was not worth missing out on the rest of this decadent truffle. Truffles are truly a treat, especially when they are these all-natural truffles. We are helpless against the creamy truffles. Mmm.
Our mouths were too full to do anything but say ‘Mmmmmm’.
The Gourmet Chocolate Bars are wonderful. We specifically sampled the Caramel Filled Milk Chocolate Bar (nothing could be better, nothing!) and Signature Dark Chocolate Peppermint Crunch Bar (best combination ever!). Our mouths were too full to do anything but say ‘Mmmmmm’. The chocolate is all natural, and made in small batches over in Vermont. The people at Lake Champlain Chocolates live for chocolate, and aim to improve your day with a little bit of their passion. Because chocolate is a natural endorphin (especially dark chocolate) it really might change your outlook on the day.

The Mocha Hot Chocolate sounds yummy. Over the holidays we started having lots of hot chocolate and much to my diet's dismay it has carried over.
