Zevia Review & Giveaway: Refreshing and Natural
I make it no secret that I LOVE Diet Soda Pop. I love the FIZZ. And I love the lack of calories. Well, I recently had a chance to try a new kind of Diet Soda Pop called Zevia. Since some of you might be curious, I think it’ll be nice to give you my thoughts on the drink and the different flavors.
I’m usually pretty loyal to other brands because I tend to get into a routine. But I think I will be breaking my routine to get a couple of these Zevia flavors. The Zevia pops are made with Stevia (I know, funny names that rhyme) which is a natural sweetner found in the Rainforest. The tagline for Zevia is, “Nature’s Answer to Diet Soda.” Color me intrigued. I like the idea of all natural things – whether that’s all natural food, all natural makeup, or all natural drinks.
I did a little Googlin’ on Stevia and found it’s a great sweetener for those watching carbs, and has been widely used in Japan since the 70′s. My only concern is if I can find more information on if this is a sustainable plant. But in April of 2009, PureCircle said that the supply chain for the plant was indeed sustainable. So, yay!
Zevia was recently featured in Oprah on her O List:
My Zevia Review of the flavors:
I really liked Black Cherry Zevia. That’s my favorite. My second favorite was the Ginger Ale.
I was not a big fan of the Orange Zevia, surprisingly. It had a sort of bitter aftertaste. That was a disappointment, because I like Orange pop, and it’s often not in diet form.
Dr. Zevia, Zevia Coke, and Ginger Root Beer were all good. (The front-runner there is the Root Beer.) They do taste a little different than what you’re used to, but it’s just a matter of deciding whether you want to make a change to what you’re used to drinking. Because then you’ll get used to THAT (the that being whatever you decide to drink regularly.)
You can buy Zevia online (here) or find it at local stores in the US or Canada. Health food and nature stores have it right now, but I really hope more Grocery stores start picking up this Soda! Right now, the main reason I wouldn’t buy any is because it’s not yet in enough general Grocery stores for me to easily purchase.
Disclosure: I was sent a mixed 6 pack to to review, but was not monetarily compensated for my opinion.

This is one of our picks for Accidental Autumn Happiness! (2010)

I have long been a fan of Stevia- it is the best for sweetening tea, no fake, metallic taste like artificial sweeteners leave- and I’m excited that it’s taking off.
