What Big Christmas Gift do YOU Want?
It’s always fun to get one big Christmas gift. Do you know what you want? Sometimes it’s hard to decide, so I’m going to run some of my ideas by you guys. What do you think I should ask Santa for?
Prescription Sunglasses
I wear my normal glasses a lot (Tina Fey does too, don’t mock me!). So much so that having a pair of prescription sunglasses doesn’t seem like a bad investment. But will I feel silly wearing them in winter? Do people really wear sunglasses in winter without looking totally dumb? 7eye makes sunglasses that I like, which are a little pricey – but I’ll want them to be sturdy. Espirit is more affordable, and just as stylish. Whatever they are, I want them to be kind of classic-looking n style. I like these three pairs: Esprit Women’s 19274 Resin Sunglasses $40 / 7eye Women’s Lily Resin Sunglasses $109.00 / 7eye Women’s Mistral Nxt Resin Sunglasses $119.00
DVR
DVR’s are popular gifts, but if you can find a unit that doesn’t require you to pay a monthly fee, that’s even better.
Sun Lamp for Depression
We all know that seasonal affective disorder happens – and there IS something you can do about it. Do these sun lamps really work, or would mine just sit in a corner collecting dust motes? On Amazon, the NatureBright SunTouch Plus Light and Ion Therapy Lamp seems to be very popular and there are an overwhelming amount of positive reviews… Hmm… There’s also the less expensive Zadro Sunlight 365 Personal Artificial Sunlight Therapy
Better Computer Desk Chair
I need a new office chair! If you use a computer a lot, you might want to invest in a better chair, as well.
Massage Chair or Massage Chair Pad
The chairs are just so expensive, so I think the smart choice is to go with a massage chair pad/cushion. Ideally, the best kind works the back and then also the neck and/or calves. Get the most bang for your buck, yanno? Call me a snob, but the ones that are just $30.00 strike me as something that will break right away. I don’t want to deal with that. I’m willing to invest in something that will last, and so should you.
Let’s get into my top options since I am pretty serious about this!:
Homedics Therapist Select SP-10H Shiatsu Pillow, Beige $39.99 This can be moved to your back or neck, and it has a LOT of good reviews.
Homedics SBM-500H Therapist Select Shiatsu One Massaging Cushion with Heat $175.00 This has great reviews on Amazon. It massages the shoulder and back, so you still might want to get a neck massager…So I could get the above product AND This one, ha! I figure this is good because to actually get a massage at a spa costs anywhere between $90-$200.00 or something. The cost-per-use would make this a great purchase.
Homedics SBM-200H Therapist Select Shiatsu Massaging Cushion with Heat $79.99 This one is not as expensive, but very similar. Do you think I should get this one instead? (the 300 model and 400 model have reviews that aren’t so happy so I think this one can’t be as great…)
Oriental Rug
Okay, oriental rugs are expensive, man! But oh, how I love them. Please donate all of your Oriental rugs to me?
The ones that are just 2 feet by 3 feet are affordable, small! It’s better to find one on sale that’s 5×8 or 8×11.
She shops smart – she’s you!

This is the third massage item I bought with the Homedics brand. Impressive! As a very serious exercise enthusiast this machine has the unusual power to calm and restore even the most fatigued muscles. Now two months with the product, I found my recovery time has dramatically improved as well.
