Serena’s Bedroom at Blair’s on Gossip Girl (Butterflies!)
I know you’re fans of Gossip Girl. Want to know about Serena’s room at Blair’s house? The centerpiece above her bed is a bunch of butterflies. These are done by Paul Villinski. Get this: the butterflies are made of crushed beer cans he’s picked up off the streets of New York! On the wall, I would have never thought that. This particular piece was commissioned for Gossip Girl.

To get a similar look to Serena’s bedroom butterflies you can buy a similar metal wall hanging item, or you can use straight pins and stock cardboard to create butterfly images to pin into a fabric covered board. Even better, use sheet metal and wire and make your own! (Inspiration image here.) I’ve worked with thin sheet metal, and it’s actually not that hard to use. Have a pointy nail on hand and you can carve into the piece with patterns.
Serena’s room on Gossip Girl is enviable, but don’t forget that she has money most of us can’t even dream of.
The only thing I don’t love is the color – BLACK. Although it does work with Serena’s room. I really like the butterflies made out of vinyl, those are cool.
The main focal point in Serena’s bedroom for Gossip Girl season 4 is unquestionably the butterflies, so consider buying or making some of your own!
