Why there’s no Shame that Your Tush needs Some Cush

Do you like where you sit? Do you think this looks like the Jetson's living room? Photo by misocrazy on Flickr.
The last time I was in my friend’s car, she apologetically tried to hide away this weird blue thing. But I’m a curious lady, so I was all “What is that???”. Turns out, the weird flat plank with a hole in it was an orthopedic seat cushion (read: butt pillow!). She uses it in her car because she drives a ton. But the fact that there’s a hole in the pillow is weird. She explained it to me, and now I’m going to share it with you. If you sit in an uncomfortable chair or seat anywhere (office, home, car, sports games, boats, in jail, the teacup rides at Disney World) it is unacceptable!

Get a simple cushion to tote with you and neeeever live in pain. Your body will sigh “ahhh, yes” when you start using a cushion. The Tush Cush company (which – omg @ the company name!) explains why the cushions have the cut out section, “Its unique cut-out design suspends your tailbone to relieve pressure that can cause backaches and strain on your spinal column.” If you have back pain, you should definitely look into getting a pillow like this. I want to go buy my Mom like FIVE, because she always says her back is feeling stressed.

Sometimes uncomfortable seating makes me miss car seats. Photo by mrbeck on Flickr.

Tush Cush $35. // Large FIRM Tush Cush Seat Cushion – Navy $39. This brand looks like they are king of seat cushion makers, I wouldn’t bother with impostors.
Safco Softspot Seat Cushion $48.
And what about your back? Lumbar pillow needed? I think I might one.
HoMedics Ortho Therapy Lumbar Cushion Support Pillow with Velour Cover $14. (Has 28 5 star reviews, woo.)
Angel Sales PosturePro Lumbar Support $14. (Has lots of good reviews, and looks almost like art, or something you’d find in a spaceship. So…modern art. Heh.)
Duro-Med Relax-a-Bac with Insert and Strap $29. (I like the idea of there being a strap to hold it to the chair. Plenty of good reviews for this one, too. I never post stuff that I see has bad reviews, though. Buying junk is never good. I say this as someone who has bought plenty of junk in her lifetime.)
