You guys, I cannot give a good review to the McDonald’s Hot Chocolate! The reality is that there are two kinds of hot chocolates: good hot chocolate or AWFUL hot chocolate.
I ordered it last night at a McDonald’s drive thru, and my friend ordered a milkshake. And guys? I totally should have gone for the milkshake.
McDonald’s Hot Chocolate Review:
The description of the McCafe Hot Chocolate is “steamed whole or nonfat milk, chocolate syrup topped with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle.”
So, when I went to take a sip my tongue was scalded with burning hot liquid. I almost screamed. I had to have a sip of my friends milkshake. The roof of my mouth was also burnt. I’m typing this the next day, and it’s still feeling raw and burnt.
I know that the McCafe Hot Chocolate is said to be made with milk it tasted like it was made with water. There was whipped cream on the top, but it melted by the time I got home to open it. And they served it without asking me if I wanted whole or skim milk, and didn’t give me a straw. All in all, I would never order this again. It tasted really bad to me.
I’ve had something else from the McDonalds McCafe and didn’t hate it, so this is not to say that everything on that section of the menu is bad. But I’d steer clear of the hot chocolate.

Their coffee is awful too. The only decent coffee there is the vanilla latte and I get that since I can’t get Tim Horton’s when I’m in the U.S.
Good thing you warned me – I will stay away from this hot chocolate! I also have to comment that I hate it when they make something so ridiculously hot that it’s dangerous to drink. Imagine if you had taken a big swig of it?! You’d think they would smarten up after getting sued a few years back for overly hot coffee.

Mmm, now I want a vanilla latte!
My tongue STILL hurts, and I got the hot chocolate last night around 8 pm! They should not make their drinks so hot. SRSLY.

Totally agreed. I got a hot chocolate from them a couple of months ago, and it was weirdly sweet and just tasted off.

I had a mocha frappe today. Mmmm.
And I’m glad I’m not alone – the sweetness was odd. I don’t understand why it tasted watery when it was milk. Boo.

Ah, why you drink coffee there, this is not the best place for that. The taste is awful.

Love their coffee. A friend of mine had the hot chocolate and said it was good. I think you should try again.

I been living in the UK the las two years and I can tell their hot chocolate is not the best in the world, but it is tasty and silky I like to drink it when am heading work and had no breakfast. Yeah sometimes it burn my tongue like just now.
I’ll give it 7.5 out of 10 if you want real chocolate well try Swiss or Belgium.
