Rachel Zoe fashion tips for summer-to-fall items

by on Sunday, July 11th, 2010

The Rachel Zoe Project season 3 is premiering soon-ish, and there are some pictures on Bravo for the new season. I really fell in love with this one look that Zoe’s wearing. She’s stuck to a basic color scheme of black and white with denim, and it’s an outfit where the elements can work for now (summahtime!) or for the fall.

We don’t need Rachel Zoe to speak when her clothing speaks for her! This is how to get a stylist without any hassle. All you need to do is interpret. And you don’t even have to do that because we’ve done that for you. Really, all you need to do is decide what your favorite pieces are.

Wide legged jeans: A pair of dark, wide leg jeans will make any outfit look sharp. And we all know that you can wear jeans at any time of the year. A lot of these dressier dark denim pieces have thinner material, which is perfect for the summer-to-fall transition.

A classic fedora: Fedora’s are just damn cool, but they’re especially the kind of hat you can pull on when you’re at the beach, and then also wear while walking through the park in the fall. They’re versatile and trendy without having to seem “trendy” (read: like you’d only wear a fedora if it was trendy) when you’re wearing one.

Floral Cocktail rings: Let’s be honest, spring is when there are the most flowers around. But summer and fall want flowers, too. If you pick floral rings in neutral colors like white or gray, you can’t go wrong. Rachel Zoe seems to be wearing a pair of very big statement rings, one of which looks exactly like the Kenneth Jay Lane white flower ring we’re featuring.

A long pearl necklace: A long necklace with pearls can take you far, and it’s a great investment piece. We’re not saying go buy a $400.00 pearl necklace – but if you spend somewhere between $50-$100 you can be sure that it’ll be well-crafted piece of jewelry that you’ll probably reach to wear quite often.

Pair all of that with a long white tank top, and then layer over a black or black-and-white cardigan when it’s chilly. Voila! You’ve just been styled!

Hint: For a pop of color, Rachel opted to paint short, squarish nails a deep, matte red, and then wore a berry pink lip color.
