How to dress like Angela on Bones
Angela Montenegro is a great character on Bones, and is probably one of the most likable ones at that. She’s artistic, with a lot of soul and some very funky outfits. I’ll admit that I really do love everyone on the show Bones (I’m also a freelance writer who specializes in TV, so believe me – I’ve seen ‘em all), but Angela holds a special place in my heart because of my own connections to the art world. Plus, she’s one of the less techy Squints, as it were, and I’d def be doing something more like her than looking into bugs or bones like the other’s. Basically, I associate with her the most and while I love Temperance’s jewelry, and Cam’s sexy power outfits – I especially love Angela’s wardrobe.
Don’t we all need to express ourselves through clothing? (The answer is YES!) Celebrate who you are via what you wear. In the second to the last episode of Bones this past season (“The Boy with the Answer”), Angela was wearing a very cool black and white top. I’ve always loved black/white pairings, and when I was at Marshall’s the other day I saw the cutest Anthropologie-esque black and white lace bedding and really wanted to buy it even though my bedroom is all greens and yellows.
Anywho, that top expressed Angela’s artistic sensibilities since it looks like a piece of art itself – like watercolors were painted and splattered on it. And it remarkably resembles nothing like a dalmatian or a cow – and that’s often hard for black and white tops to steer clear from. And who wants to be dressed up like a cow unless it’s for a fifth grade play?
If we note her hair (*taps the picture with an important pointy stick for emphasis*) she is wearing it in pin-up style curls, for retro appeal. Love it. Gimme those curls!
In the season finale of Bones (“The Beginning in the End”) Angela was again in something I thought was tres chic. She wore a blue floral top over a pair of jeans, but under a leather motorcycle jacket. Her hair was in loose waves, and she wore braided leather cuffs.

Items inspired by Angela Montenegro:
Your challenge is to wear something that makes you nervous to wear – but that you already own and love in some way. Go for it! I think I’ll wear this summer straw hat with a black linen bow on it…sometimes it makes me feel silly…but I like it. And I certainly hate the idea of getting sun-burnt.
I’ve tried something new for this post (and slightly time consuming, yes) by having an option for average dress sizes and plus sizes as well. To make them stick out, I’ve bolded when it’s a plus sized item. No matter what size you wear, you can wear what you want if you only know where to look. Voila:

For sure, I think it's great that these days you can find more and more cute/trend items a much wider variety of sizes. No longer do you have to be a size 2 if you want to have the cutest stuff.

do you know where I could find a vest like the one she wore in the season 2 episode “the girl in suite 2103″? she wore it towards the end of the show during the scene with Hodgins…I’m rewatching the series and came across this last night and I found this page doing a search for it, if you could help that’d be great, but if it’s an episode too far back I totally understand. Great post by the way.:)
