Short Black Wig with Bangs: Transform Your Style
Thursday, January 20th, 2011
I was able to take a close-up look at a really short black wig with bangs from the Costume Supercenter. They’re the home of amazing and varied costumes, wigs, and all sorts of accessories for playing dress up. (We never stop, even when we get older!)
For any costume wig I recommend getting a wig cap. They sell them at Costume Supercenter for $4.00 and it helps keep your hair under the wig. Another tip is to use hair that hasn’t been washed that day, so the natural oils have worked their way in. Second day hair is good, and tons of celebs only wash every other day, anyway. (I subscribe to this process as well.)
So, the wig in question? The Deluxe Midnight Black Charm Wig which has bangs and a short bob. Maybe I’ll wear it on Valentine’s day, eh? Pft, pft. Anyway!
It was hard to pick a wig. But ... Read More
Stay Warm at Work (Office Chills?) with a Infared Shoulder Wrap
Tuesday, January 18th, 2011
Since the weather outside is SERIOUSLY frightful, all I can think about is ways to stay warm. And since I spend a long amount of time chained to my computer (well, it’s like an elastic leash more than a chain) being warm at the computer is also key. I had a chance to look at the Heated Shoulder Wrap from Heated Mouse (who also run the Warm Mouse Heated Keyboard site.)
The color is gray, which is neutral and will work if you want to haul it into your office. I actually think I would have liked the neck warmer better. You plug this into a USB port, and it only works with that – you can’t plug it in anywhere else. Then you turn it on, and can adjust it to two different levels of heat.
Something I hadn’t realized is that the entire infrared shoulder wrap doesn’t heat up entirely, there are two little packs sewn inside of it that heat up with infrared heat. I wish there were more of them in there ... Read More
Miss Oops Reviews: Pedicure in a Bottle, Rescue Sponge, Boob Tube
Monday, January 17th, 2011
Miss Oops is a company that makes products for all the tiny (but hardly overlooked by you) details in your life. From mishap tape to a lint roller, these items are reasonably priced, and all in the vein of “hey, that’s helpful!” She’s Smart was given the chance to review three items and let you know what our honest thoughts are. I took the task, and here is what I felt:
Pedicure in a Bottle $18.00: I’m someone who is constantly attending to her feet, because I can’t stand when they feel rough at all. So, yes, I’ve tried tons of different products. But I’ve actually never tried one like this – which exfoliates and then is absorbed into your skin rather than rinsed off. This makes it so much easier to apply. The more I use this, the more I love it. I seriously need to RAVE. It works so well. I don’t know that I need to buy other lotions ever again. And I use this on my cuticles and it soothes those – and ooooh, I love smooth cuticles. You guys. This is a miracle product.

Personalized Marble Coasters: Review & Giveaway
Sunday, January 16th, 2011
I picked some Floral Initial Coasters to review when the Personal Creations website offered me the chance to get to know their company a bit more. So, why did I pick those? Because personalized coasters are COOL, and my old ones needed to be replaced. These are available in red, navy or green (I picked navy) and have a subtle floral motif that isn’t overly girly. It’s classic-looking and traditional, but also clean and crisp.
I like the color of blue, and also like that they entire design is outlined, with the personalization inside the line. It makes it seem like a very cohesive design.
The quality of the marble top is excellent. Under that is a cardboard buffer, which is nice because it lets you slide the coaster on a table without causing scuffs. This would be a really nice gift for someone. Anything personalized always feels so much more of a special gift than anything else.
These personalized marble coasters were packaged very excellently, there was no chance they would break.

SANTE Organic Makeup Reviews
Sunday, January 16th, 2011
When I got a chance to sample some SANTE makeup products, I focused on the eyes and lips. Everything is 100% organic, hence the appeal! Because your skin basically eats some of what you put onto it, you definietly want to use organic makeup when you can!
There were a few SANTE products I really liked, and a couple I wasn’t as keen on. Read on for the full scoop.
Organic Eyeshadow Review of Trio: rose wood 03: Okay, it looks like normal eyeshadow but it’s not – it’s 100% organic eyeshadow. It’s created with plant oils and mineral pigments. It’s smooth because it has jojoba oil and chamomile. This organic eyeshadow palette has three basic rose/plummy colors. I like the eyeshadow properties, however I do wish there were some more beige/brown colors without so much pink/rosy-ness to it. The shadow wasn’t bad in any means, but I really only liked the lighest color. Otherwise I didn’t feel like the brown was very pigmented. Although, if you want organic only, this is good. Otherwise, Clinique is similar. Buy
FitDeck Review of Exercise Cards: Yoga Cards, Stretching Cards, Pilates Cards
Saturday, January 15th, 2011
FitDeck is a deck of playing cards, and each different deck has a different theme. The cards have visuals and instructions for executing different movements.
I received several different FitDecks to review and look over.
The Stretching Cards!
Fitdeck Review:
FitDeck Stretch: Have you noticed how much cats and other animals stretch? We should all stretch more. Which is a great, simple idea. But do you know what stretches to do, or what a certain move will be stretching? The cards highlight a yellow section to show you what part of your body should be feeling the stretch. FitDeck Office: Okay, how many people work in an office? I work at a desk so often, and while I do not want to stop my day to full on exercise, doing some of these cards is actually a nice break from working. And it gets my blood pumping/endorphins flowing, etc. I think it helps me work more productively.

Thursday, January 13th, 2011
This eyelash growing products review is not a super favorable one – sorry, guys. Brooke Shields was the first celebrity to promote Latisse eye gel to grow eyelashes longer. But it was only after I saw that Claire Danes had hoped on board to also promote the product that I thought “hey, maybe this actually IS something with this whole trend of growing your lashes.” But our ShesSmart.com experience with growing eyelashes has not been a positive one. BOTTOM LINE: The product worked only marginally on the lashes, not the brows, it itched and it is likely the face of a painful facial infection. I would never purchase Lashem, especially as the press rep for Lashem was incredibly rude to us when she saw we could not honestly give her a 100% positive review. We strive to be honest to our ShesSmart.com readers, and will not bend the truth to make a company happier.
Our lashes are NOT chia pets, and I didn’t want them to look ridiculous or discolor my eyes. So I am not on board with these lash growing products at all. But my Mom is a little more willing because she has sparse eyelashes, and it’s something that I know she’s self-conscious about. It’s not even noticeable to other people, but she knows that her ... Happy Hour Effect Review (The Supplement to Reduce Stress)
Tuesday, January 11th, 2011
Stress and I are well-acquainted. And that’s not something I’m happy to admit. When I had the chance to contribute to the Happy Hour Effect Reviews, I was pretty amped. A few weeks later, I’m still not sure how much of an effect there’s been, though.
Happy Hour Effect: The Supplement to Reduce Stress
What is the Happy Hour Effect? It’s a health supplement. They are supposed to ease your work stress and aid you in balancing your life. The supplements have vitamins, amino acids, and herbs to support your body.
You take two of the pills every day.
Stress is certainly a problem for tons of people. there’s the economy, layoffs, the inability to sleep properly, eating issues, all sorts of problems tied into (and creating) stress in our lives. But can two pills a day really help relieve this? I wish I had a definitive answer for you guys. While there are some testimonial’s you can find on the website, I’m unable to offer any solid feedback about how the pills worked for me, other than I didn’t notice any change (not even a placebo affect). Of course, every vitamin affects people in a different way. What does or doesn ... Read More

Warm Cozy Socks to Wear as Pajama Socks
Saturday, January 8th, 2011
As it gets colder and colder, what I want is super soft socks for women! The fluffier the better! I want clouds on my feet, people!
Socks4Life.com has so many kinds of socks, and they sent me three kinds of their super soft socks for women. I’m not a fan of slipper socks where the bottoms are tough, so I go for pajama sock types – all soft, ALL the time.
Excell Striped Cozy Socks: These are like pajama socks for me, although I tend to wear them whenever I’m lounging at home. They’re just so much more cozy and warm than normal socks, you know? A pack of 3 is usually $15.00 but these are on sale for $9.50. I only wish they had more color options. The blue is great, but I’m less keen on black/orange colors. Of course, as I said I only wear these as pajama socks or as lounge socks – so no one else sees them other than friends/family/animals. And they just care that my feet are warm and cozy. I prefer these as lounge socks, because while I sleep these socks tend to move all around my feet until the heel is at the front. The ... Read More
