Where’s Your Happy Place? Here’s One of Mine that Works

I will admit this…begrudgingly… I’m a Type A, perfectionist who has a world of trouble trying to relax. It just seems impossible. I’m very high strung, and it makes me pretty unpleasant unless I actively try to combat my anxious feelings about everything in life. So, when it comes to CALMING DOWN, I look to my role model – the fictional character of Ferris Bueller. He knew how to live life. It’s pretty impossible to pick a favorite scene from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, but I’ve always loved how shamelessly Ferris faked sick, then sat outside in the sun with a tropical drink and his phone.
When I faked sick in high school I’d play the part even if no one was home, just in case I got caught not looking miserable. But do you know what good worries do? Nothing. I mean, they keep you vigilant and if life were like The Walking Dead, I’s probably want to stay pretty “on guard” like this. But as life its, without the zombie apocalypse, it’s really time for me to relax. As the movie says, “Leisure Rules.” So be a Ferris. My happy place is visualizing myself in Ferris’ backyard, with his attitude on life. Everything will be okay!

PRETTY! Brooke Davis’ Wedding Dress and Hair

It’s kind of a coincidence, but right now I’m listening to the Glee cover of “Marry You.” This is a post about One Tree Hill (not a show I watch) for Brooke Davis’ wedding dress and the Brooke Davis wedding hair. Much as I don’t appreciate the show, I do appreciate fashion when it’s good – anywhere!
On the show, Brooke Davis married Julian Baker. They are a real life couple, and Sophia Bush actually helped design her characters wedding dress.
What do you think of it? The style of gown is a strapless tulle and lace mermaid wedding dress. It’s by BCBG Max Azaria. A crystal brooch accents her waist.
There’s a nice belt action going on. It’s strapless, of course. She’s got a veil, a jeweled headpiece, (two crystal headbands) and drop earrings. For her wedding day hair she has a simple knotted or braided bun, but the headbands and veil dress this up for the special occasion.
The white dress has lots of ruffles and her bouquet has white flowers that look like white roses and white orchids. Maybe dogwood blossoms? I’m not sure, I’m not a flower guru. ... Read More

Savvy Fitness: Easy Yoga DVD (Netflix Instant Watch Suggestions)

Hello everyone, it’s Rachel here. You guys know I’m the new plus size blogger. Something I haven’t talked about yet is the “F” word. Fitness. It’s something I try to make a part of my life more than I avoid it. I discovered that Netflix Watch Instantly had a yoga video, and gave it a try without any expectations. I’m by no means a yoga expert, so I stick to very easy yoga. This video, as it happens, was extremely easy and low impact, something perfect for beginners. If they remove it from Netflix Instant, I’ll might actually buy it because the Amazon.com price is very low.
The video is “Crunch- Candlelight Yoga” with Sara Ivanhoe.Isn’t it nice that Netflix offers that? I have done the routine twice and even though I would classify the video as very easy, I still felt a sense of energy and warmth afterwards. There are some reviews on Amazon (linked above) which also speak of this feeling.
