Say “hello, there, sexy” to the bucket bag! It’s returning as a hot trend at the tail end of 2011 – and I’m sure we’ll see it more in 2012. What is a bucket bag, you ask? Look for a drawstring that kind of pulls the bag together.
People say this was an 80’s trend. I recall mini backpacks as a thing in the early 90’s, but I was too young in the 80’s to know much about fashion other than to know Madonna was (and apparently still is, even with her golem arms) a fashion icon. Permed hair (which, thank God, I didn’t have), jelly shoes, – that’s the 80’s for me. The 90’s gave me stirrup pants and uh, why am I admitting all of this to you? Let’s focus on Bucket Bags!Bucket Bags Trend

I had the chance to review the Genuine Jade 18K Gold Plated Sterling Silver Necklace from Susan B. What is SusanB about? The site is about affordable, expensive-looking jewelry that makes a stylish statement.
“Your online access to exquisite fashion jewelry- classic style, new trends & exclusive designer accessories- all at prices you can afford. Looking great isn’t as expensive as you think! There’s no mistaking a woman of style…she makes an entrance. Turns heads. Gets compliments. All without any apparent effort. She knows she doesn’t need to spend a million to look like a million. That’s what style is.” Big name designers carried on the site include Kenneth Jay Lane and Betty Carre.
This Jade necklace is a very nice piece that walks the line of bold and soft. The soft green color keeps it looking classic, while the size of the necklace is exactly what you want – it’s not too small that it fades into your skin but it’s not so large that you feel self-conscious trying to pull it off. I love that it matches a lot of things, has a 2 inch extender chain for varying length, and people notice it right away when I’m wearing it. That’s what you want from a good piece of jewelry! You want that reaction of “that’s so pretty, where did y ... Read More
I took a trip to Marshalls last week and picked up a perfect, perfect bag. It’s a MMS Design Studio bag. The retail cost was $55.00 and i got it for just $29.99.
EDIT: So, the hinges on this bag have broken TWICE. This speaks, to me, of shotty workmanship and I don’t think I’d buy another MMS Design Studio Bag again.
Why I love this bag is because it’s not overly big, but it fits nicely over my shoulder and stays there with a sturdy (and smart) double strap. The zipper pulls are large, flat and silver (aka stylish), and the pockets are lined in a sweet black and white print. The colors of the leather are also deeply and richly hued. It feels absolutely sturdy and looks fashionable, and there’s nothing I don’t like about it. I suspect the brand does all sorts of great stuff. Have you seen other MMS bags? I haven’t seen a ton, actually. But I hope to see more in the future.
I wouldn’t have been surprised if the retail price had said it was more like $70.00. But for the price of a bag you could get at Target (and I don’t knock Target as a whole, except their bags are awfully pretty flimsy) I got one that had both the look and feel up a much more expensive bag from a department store. MMS label even has a fun logo with the scrollwork stuff. All in all: A+ until further notice.... Read More

Minka Kelly’s style is about to get on your radar as this former Friday Night Lights actress has taken a leading role in Charlie’s Angels. This show looks all kinds of cheesy and crazy and I suspect it might get canceled. But, who knows! It might be awesome and fun and be on for years. Either way, it gave me the perfect excuse to check out what Kelly’s been wearing these days and I noticed she’s got a few really amazing pieces of jewelry in her rotation. So, without further adieu (and lots more of me pretending I’m French) here are three Minka Kelly jewelry pieces that I think you guys might love.

If Carrie Bradshaw and Charlotte York had to design a shoe together, this would be it.
Olivia Palermo was in attendance at Stephane Rolland Haute Couture Fall 2011/ 2012 show in Paris Fashion Week. She looked pretty in a floral Zara dress and her Lulu Frost statement necklace and feathered bag, but the piece that really caught my attention were the fun-but-still-understated ruffled purple Charlotte Olympia “Paloma” platforms.
These are just…perfect. They have little extras that make them special, but they’re not too wild. They’re high fashion. I love the details of the ruffles and this royal purple color with great shine, and the contrast piping with the platform, and even the bottom of the soles. They’re feminine-meets-glamorous.
Olivia Palermo 2011 Style showcases mixing florals with metals.
I think this calls for a CLOSER look at more of what Charlotte Olympia shoes can offer us:
On Pretty Little Liars, the fab four all had matching friendship bracelets given to them by Alison. I love the idea of rekindling this type of jewelry, although for anyone 16+ you probably want something a little more stylish than what they had. Even now, the girls wouldn’t want to wear those bracelets, but would favor something a little more fashionable.
Friendship bracelets have a matching vibe, but they can also vary in color, charms, and all sorts of ways to make each unique for all of your friends. It just depends on how matchy-matchy you and your gang are. Below our four stylish friendship bracelets you might like.Stylish Friendship Braclets – Pretty Little Liars Inspired Jewelry

In the hunt for leather purses with ruffles, I encountered a lot of annoyances. There were bright, neon colors that no one would wear, shotty construction that made the bag look floppy, cheesy embellishments that looked tacky… I mean, it’s not a pretty picture. You have to be selective!
Not only is leather a great material for purses, but the toughnes of the leather as it contrasts with something so feminine like ruffles is a great juxtaposition. And good style boils down to having a balance of two different things: hard – meet soft! When they said opposites attract, maybe they didn’t mean for people but for the world of fashion.
Sometimes ruffles are like a cascading waterfall, sometimes they’re a quirky addition to an otherwise standard purse (giving it wings, so to speak) and sometimes they’re squiggly back and forth and badly placed. It’s up to you to find the one that works for you. I’ve found for that I really liked. The first is a classic, everyday purse. The second is super feminine. The third is part preppy and part glamorous. The fourth is hip and sleek and dare I say…sexy?

While headbands on their own aren’t as trendy or popular right now, feathers in all shapes and forms are all the rage. Which means that, lucky for us, feather headbands are totally fair game. Below, I’ve found five that I like that are not just using the shape of a feather, but actual feathers. I’m not sure if we can say that Aria from Pretty Little Liars started this trendy, but her feather hair accessories have definietly served as inspiration for many people.
Picking out a headband is really the first of many steps when it comes to wearing a headband. You can part your hair, or not. You can wear your hair down (straight, curled at the end, or entirely curled), half up/half down, or all the way up (with shorter layers pulled to frame your face or not.)
Before I wrote this post, I didn’t know anything about the brand L. Erickson, and I still don’t know much. But what I do know is that they make really nice headbands, as two that I picked ended up being by that design brand.
With the different thicknesses of headbands, and types of feathers – you can really find just about any style you’d hope to secure. When it comes to feathers, they can often look “busy” so try to use a stark contrast in colors to your hair. This problem can easily be solved by a hot pink feather headband (unless you dye your hair hot pink, which is very Scott Pilgrim of you.)
