Here are two fool-proof outfit ideas for spring 2012. Just try not to go overboard on buying great Butter nail polishes (because it can happen, and it’s…well, no, it’s not tragic at all, actually. They are AMAZING.)

This first outfit utilizes a long printed maxi dress that you probably already own from last summer. Then you take a cropped jacket, and pile on a large gold statement necklace for the entire downtown-city-boho-chic look! And I included a Butter nail polish in this fabulous dark turquoise because I love Butter nail polish colors. TV characters that might wear this include: Emily Fields from Pretty Little Liars when dressing up for a date (see: How to dress like Emily Fields), Alex from Happy Endings (see: How to dress like Alex Happy Endings Fashion) or Cece from New Girl (Cece New Girl fashion.)

Okay, this next outfit is probably another one of my favorite things right now. I start with this really cool green bomber jacket (even though the model has the craziest stank face!) and layered it over a floral dress that you’ll wear all the time this summer 2012. The sandals are by Vera Wang, and the yellow Butter Nail Polish makes this a perfect outfit for someone like Aria Montgomery from Pretty Little Liars (see: How to dress like Aria Montgomery), Ashley from Revenge (Ashley Revenge wardrobe) or June from Don’t Trust the B in Apt 23 (June Don’t Trust the B fashion.) This look says, I’m flirty, I’m free, I’m feminine, but I watch a lot of Nikita and can kick your ass!

At an early age, I kept binders of inspiration imagery. One of my favorite magazine tear-out’s was a shopping trip that Sofia Coppola did where she picked up some cheap flower hair clips from China Town. They were so unique and vibrant – but I had no clue where to get some for myself. (This was back in the 90′s.) But now that we have online shopping and there are so many great handmade makers on sites like Etsy, it’s hard to pick which butterfly accessories I love the most. Seeing the way the women style their hair to wear them is all so inspiring in itself, it makes me think I ought to make my hair feel fancy (kind of a natural, woodland fairy kind of fancy – though) more often. These images show you how to wear butterfly clips in many different ways. So, get inspired!

Taylor Swift is a fan of Guy and Eva jewelry as part of her own jewelry style. So what pieces might she pick?

This isa collection of looks that is very bright, kind of spring-like. There’s some enamel florals in the bracelet which are very sunny. I’ve picked up that golden color with the earrings and the necklace, but let the bracelet be the main attraction so nothing is too overpowering. Taylor can pull off delicate jewelry.

The necklace I used isn’t the one that exactly matches the earrings, but either of them can really be used. And you might be wondering why I didn’t try to match the bracelet as well, and that’s because I think three matching pieces of jewelry can look … it’s not you having a style, it’s you just wearing something off of a mannequin. Two pieces that match is always fine, though. It’s just a third piece that will make it look over the top. So here, the metal tone is the same so it does “match” – just not in any exact way.

And again, because the bracelet is powerful and draws attention, you don’t need huge earrings or a thick bracelet. I can see Taylor wearing this all with a white sundress and wedge sandals.
