I love Girl With a Satchel’s Erica, and I especially loved what she said about the new Lucky Magazine cover with Rachel Bilson: “…while Rachel Bilson is pretty but won’t steal your boyfriend’s attention”. I also love Rachel Bilson. With so much love, why am I cranky?

Well, most of the fashionable items that Bilson told Lucky she likes are super expensive. Of course, I’m used to that with this magazine – or magazines in general. But if you really want something that Rachel Bilson covets, what can you get? Beauty products are less expensive than the leather jacket she’s selected, so let’s look at those.

Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara in Black – $8.  Bilson tells Lucky Magazine, “I love this mascara from Neutrogena. I put it on in the morning and never have to think about.” This seems to be a very popular mascara, I’d try it for sure.  Neutrogena Mascara.

Davines Love Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner-  $19 & $22. Bilson gushes about how Davines Love Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner helps her frizzy hair. The bottles look pretty and pinky, but I’m not sure I’d buy them. Davines Shampoo & Davines Condtioner

OPI Matte Nail Lacquer in You Don’t Know Jacques – $9. I’m pretty sure you could find this color for half the price. But in lieu of that, the price is right for OPI polishes, I think. Bilson said she liked this color on a shoot. I’ve heard these are easy to apply but also do not last as long as normal polishes. Still, I really like polishes that I can apply easily… I might be willing to make that trade. Style.com says that Chanel is making a plummy-gray-brown matte polish called  Particuliere. And you can bet that will cost a lot more than OPI polishes.  OPI Nail Polish
