Seaweed in beauty treatments isn’t just an idea in movies with fantastic spas – it’s a reality. An affordable reality that actually gives great results! What we need as we age is severe dry skin treaments. And that’s just what you get with Repechage.
Pronounced: Re-pe-shaj (noun: to rescue; second chance)
I submit to the ways of the seaweed! You can say “I dew” about having more moisturized skin by using the Professional Skin Care Hydra Dew line from Repechage. They use seaweed from the coast of France in their products, and you can tell the difference in your face. They sent along the Hydra Dew Start/Travel Collection for me to test. Five Hydra Dew products are put in a waterproof travel bag (score!). They Hydra Dew collection is for dry skin. Do I have that? Uuumm, yes. Not that I’m proud of that fact. But Winter doesn’t exactly make it any easier. (And I did buy a humidifier last year, but cleaning it monthly was such a pain that I didn’t put it out this winter.)
I was able to try all 5 of the Hydra Dew professional skincare products. They focus on restoring and preserving the moisture in your skin. “Our exclusive natural ingredients re-establish moisture to the Hydra-Lipid layer so dry becomes dewy. Provides 24-hour hydration & protection to the skin, smoothes fine lines and wrinkles.” Ingredients include Moisture binding Codium Tomentosum Seaweed, soothing Water Lily, skin conditioning oils from the Seeds of Sesame, Sunflower and Almond, plus anti-oxidant rich Mango Butter. I might not be very sciency, but that stuff all sounds good. But of course I had to put it to the test. I didn’t think it’d do anything bad, but just how good would it be? That was the question.
Luckily for people seeking answers for dry skin, the answer is positive! I can give a thumbs up to each of the products. I start my days off using the Hydra Dew Gentle Cleansing Mousse and then use the Hydra Dew Smoothing Toner Spray. I wait for my face to dry and apply the Hydra Dew Moisturizing Day Cream liberally all over my face and neck. At night, after using the Cleaning Mousse, I apply the Hydra Dew Nourishing Gel Cream around my eyes and then spot-treat my three dryest patches on my face with the Hydra Dew Illuminating Cream Mask. I love going to bed knowing my face is going to be taken care of while I sleep and have a restorative experience! These are definitely some of the best dry skin treatments I’ve ever used. This is some of the best lotion for dry skin on the face.
I was able to see an actual difference after just one day of using the Hydra Dew products. And I also felt a difference. My three dry patches on my face in-between my eyebrows (like the size of two quarters) and then a quarter size spot in two spots on my chin. The forehead area will get so dry that when I use my mineral makeup it only calls attention to the dry skin. So I’ve paid special attention to this area. There’s been no flaking since. As for my chin, the dry patches actually discolor my skin and I’ve asked my Dr. about this before, and she said to just make sure to use lotion. Well, I already use lotion ALL the time, a lot! Sometimes I spot-treat the areas with Vaseline, but nothing was making the patches less dry or any less discolored to this kind of brown/muddy red color. Augh!
But with using the Repechage products the spots here actually became less discolored, and when I run my finger over I could feel there was not any dry skin raised up. These moisture-rich products really did work better than months of using various other lotions. I’m not yet 30 (but close!) so soon I’ll be worried about wrinkles. I definitely think that the sign of such a moisturizing lotion and line of products is something I’d like to use on my face all the time. I would never have thought I’d be gung-ho about seaweed, but apparently it’s the magic ingredient!
