Katherine Pierce Hair and Makeup on The Vampire Diaries
Katherine Pierce’s makeup isn’t too vampy, even though she’s a vampire on The Vampire Diaries.

FACE: Subtle rose blush on the apples of her cheeks (smile and you’ll see them!) and some contouring powder from the edge of her face inward under her cheekbones.
EYES: She wears smokey black eyeliner that’s a little heavy on her upper lids and black mascara. To get this look, apply your black eyeliner and then go over it with a dark eyeshadow color. I always do this as it “sets” the liner so it doesn’t smudge any further. When I do this I can often skip an eye primer if I want to (my mineral makeup works great over the lid as a base anyway.)
Use matte or satin eyeshadows, nothing with shimmer. She pairs eyeshadows like beige and dark brown in her crease. The trick: think of the neutral brown you’d see on Elena and then go a tad darker. Try a matte dark shadow like Pretty Pansy by Eve Organics. It’s not black, but there’s a purple hint to it so it gives you the darkness you crave.
LIPS: She isn’t wearing lipgloss, but there IS a shine to her lips. Look for a very or plum lip tinted lip balm or sheer lipstick.Revlon has this new “Just Bitten” lipstain and balm that I think would work. Shown to the left is the Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Color (click.)
If your eyebrows aren’t very dark, use shadow to darken and define them.
Vampire Diaries Katherine HAIR: Katherine had tight spiral curls back in the day, these days she goes for very big and full curls. You’ll want to use a curling iron and have lots of time. Clip sections of your hair away so you can focus on each part. Part your hair in the middle. Your curling iron should be large, at least 1″.
Use a good hairspray when you’ve finished curling everything. A trick with the curling iron is to make sure you don’t try to clamp/curl the ends of your hair. Also, don’t curl any of your hair near the crown too high. She has a good drop of uncurled hair before it poofs out, you know? (I have seen really great hair done with the Hot Tools Curling Iron. I’d suggest the MEGA version of 1 1/4″ which is $24 on Amazon.)
I also advocate a great shine spray! Try the Sebastian Halo Mist UV Filter, Weightless-Shine Spray Shine Spray for light-feeling and luminous looking hair.

What kills me about some of these youtube tutorial’s is that they advocate fake lashes (you should only use three fake lashes if you really need more lashes – don’t use a whole lash set) shimmery shadows, and really smokey dark eyeshadows. She only has the really smokey eyeshadow in “Masquerade” since that was a fancy party.

Katherine also has false individual flare lashes on which gives her that long full lash effect

I found this website so handy, I love Katherine’s hair! I want those curlers. But I’m in the UK and they’re an american plug and voltage amount so it’s difficult to ensure I get the right voltage converters and adapters.
But i would love these curlers!
Any suggestions?
