Great Website to Find Sales in your Area
Monday, December 7th, 2009
SaleHOP is a website that monitors the sales going on in specific locations. By simply typing in your zip code you’ll get a map that shows you where sales are going on. I found 42 sales going on in my area. Although, weirdly – one of them was a sale listed at a Casket store! WHAT THE WHAT? I don’t want to buy one of those for Christmas!
Shoppers can locate:
* Retail Store Sales – Clearance, closeout, monthly specials and more * Events – Craft shows, art shows, auctions, community events, etc. * Garage and Yard Sales – Moving, estate, rummage sales, etc. * Stuff for Sale – Local people selling stuff near you

Saturday, December 5th, 2009
The snazzy Official Best of Fest gift sets aim to show you the best films you’ve never seen, or even heard about. I received a copy of the Chick Flicks gift set to review, but I’ve naturally had to take a couple days to watch enough of it to talk about.
These are substantial films that really make you feel.
Two disc’s are included. The first one has short films, and the second disc has two feature films. I was surprised by the short films, because while I thought they might all be feel-good, happy, mushy things – they were actually mostly dramas that kind of…well, there was a need for Kleenex! They’re ‘Chick Flicks’ in the sense that I can’t think of many guys who would appreciate watching these the way a woman could, but there’s nothing slap-happy involved here. These are substantial films that really make you feel.
I especially enjoyed the films The Republic of Love, Gafa, Charlotte’s Red and Danya. You can read the full list & synopses of the films included in the set.

“The perfect little book for anyone who wants to fulfill her own Bombshell aspirations. Just grab your favorite baby doll pajamas, a glass of champagne, and sink right in!” -Marisa Tomei
I spotted The Bombshell Manual of Style by Lauren Stover in a Waldo’s Bookstore, years ago. I was pulled to the book, and even when my practical friend insisted we leave (without the book) I lingered with the book in my hands until I woman-ed up and bought it. I was in high school at this point, so buying random books wasn’t a luxury I could usually afford. But I was in too-deep, already a loyal subscriber to the ways of Grace Kelly and Veronica Lake. And luckily, I wasn’t disappointed by this book. To this day I’m glad I have it in my personal library. It’s not the kind of book you just want to read, it’s the kind you want to own.

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009
Graphique is an online shop that publishes all sorts of goodies from stationery to wall decals. Because they have production centers in North America, Asia and Europe they are able to closely follow design trends to create the most fashionable products. Some people don’t realize how important a font can be (until it’s time to pick Wedding invitations – then they worry about font selection for a month). I love Graphique because they embrace style the way I want to embrace style in my everyday life.
I love Graphique because they embrace style the way I want to embrace style in my everyday life.
I received some products from GraphiquedeFrance.com to review, which included Home Decals (TM) from the Fashion-Forward selections (Chandelier, Framed) as well as the Lively Garden set which notably has a smooth surface of subdued glitter on the wall decals. I also received the absolute cutest notecards with a birds nest on the ... Read More
Shopcat Openly Defies My Shopping Efforts!
Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009
Do you guys remember when I was talking about shopcats’s problem with scratching new furniture? I bought her a new scratch box, but all she wants to do is lick it. And now I have PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF!
What do you suggest I get Shopcat for Christmas? She seems to enjoy boxes… you know, destroying them ruthlessly!
P.S. Shea Terra Organics products are awesome, I mentioned them earlier.
Find Gifts like a Pro with the Priceless Gift Finder
Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009I’m sure you’ve seen the cute commercial for the Mastercard Priceless Gift Finder, but have you seen the behind-the-scenes footage? Peyton Manning is funnier than I realized, and Alyson Hannigan is such a talented pro (who yea, is also a big ball of cute).

Shopping Ideas from Kate Voegele
Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009
Singer/songwriter Kate Voegele was happy to receive a DVD copy of Home Alone as well as a Peppermint Martini Kit from Crate and Barrel. We’d be happy to get those things, too! Or maybe peppermint hot chocolate? Cute touches like peppermint stirrers add a nice little extra. Giving someone a classic DVD and special hot chocolate gift set would make a great Christmas gift.
