Steal Reese Witherspoon’s Outfit: the Savvy Professional
Monday, November 30th, 2009
When I saw this candid picture of Reese Witherspoon I loved it a lot. Looking at it now today, I love it as much as I did yesterday. It’s the perfect example for why people have always used Reese Witherspoon as a ‘girl next door’ fashion example. This is a cute, pulled-together outfit that I bet you can recreate from items already in your closet. All you need are some jeans (in this case, straight-leg/skinny jeans), black flats, a white blouse, a short-sleeved black sweater, black handbag and a long necklace. She’s also got on a pair of earrings and a watch. It’s just basic stuff, but put together like this it just looks so professional. I could see her as being a stylish journalist who has swapped black pants for her jeans at the end of the day. This is a safe, easy outfit that youc an personalize depending on what sorts of necklaces and purses you have to incorporate.

Be a Woman who Cuts Through Red Tape
Sunday, November 29th, 2009
Dictionary.com defines Red Tape as: “excessive formality and routine required before official action can be taken.” I was thinking about red tape as I was listening to the Cake song “Short Skirt, Long Jacket”. It’s an incredibly upbeat, fun song. And the lyrics are great. The color red is inspiring to me because it’s such a bold, powerful color. Like WHAZZOM – I’m here, I’ve ARRIVED! Wearing red items can help you feel confident, weird as that might sound. And I know I say some PRETTY weird things sometimes, but this I’m serious about! So get on board, and wear some red.

I want a girl with a mind like a diamond I want a girl who knows what’s best I want a girl with shoes that cut And eyes that burn like cigarettes
I want a girl who gets up early I want a girl who stays up late I want a girl with uninterrupted prosperity Who used a machette to cut through red tape With fingernails that shine like justice And a voice that is dark like tinted glass ... Read More
What You Share with John Mayer…Sneaker Love!
Saturday, November 28th, 2009
John Mayer really loves sneakers (why do I keep typing snakers – who would wear THOSE?) – especially Nikes. He told USA Today once, “The best part about the Grammy’s is getting to wear sneakers. The sneakers keep it real. This is just music, nothing earth shattering.” There is actually an entire blog dedicated to following John’s sneakers and they have a picture of John out and about wearing a pair of really cute Nike’s called the Air Max 95-360 red pink gray (or red pink brown).
I found these Nike sneakers for $79.99 if you want those exact ones.
Sneaker News just did a feature on John Mayer for being a “sneakerhead” and noted his Nike’s were the Nike x Dave’s Quality Meat (DQM) Blazer High’s in Black (that’s a m ... Read More

Two Necklace Trends to Try, Pronto!
Thursday, November 26th, 2009
This Eastern Snake-necked Turtle wants to wear necklaces so badly he's ...well, you see. His neck...it's crazy-long! Turtles are creepier than I realized...Let's back away slowly... (Picture from wollombi on Flickr)
I am not usually a big advocate of trends. I mean, if you’re not rich then you can’t reasonably afford to shop the trends except in cheap ways you won’t really be satisfied with – at least most of the time. But jewelry trends do tend to move a lot slower than other trends. And what, is someone going to laugh at you for wearing a certain necklace past when other people were? I don’t really think so. Because if a piece is pretty – truly pretty? Then that’s all people care about. And that’s all YOU, my friend, should care about. Shop smart and shop pretty. Don’t shop with other people’s expectations in mind.
So, trends. There are two necklace trends that I want to mention because you’re bound to see them in lots of stores right now. And I think you should get at least one type of them, or resurrect a similar sort from your jewelry box. Because th ... Read More
How to Shop Black Friday Deals Online
Wednesday, November 25th, 2009
I never bother going out to shop on Black Friday because really, who needs the stress of that hassle? My skin looks pale in 4 a.m. moonlight! However…shopping online on Black Friday? …Yea, I could do that. Savings.com has compiled a list of online tips to save on this upcoming Black Friday. Three of their Black Friday tips I found to be pretty handy!
Does Thanksgiving now feel less about a holiday of its own, and more about loading up on a big meal to start shopping? Photo by vintagehalloweencollector on Flickr
1.They suggest checking the Internet at midnight on Thanksgiving to see if deals are already live. And don’t waste time and procrastinate just because the deals are online – often Black Friday online deals will expire later that day!
2. Don’t be fooled by what looks like a good deal because something is X percent off. “A larger percentage off at one store can actually be more than a lower percentage off at another. Have a calculator handy to see just how much you’re saving – and be certain to factor in shipping costs.” ... Read More

Kelli Diane Designs ‘Sheyla Clutch’ Review and Giveaway
Wednesday, November 25th, 2009
With dedication and a passionate spirit, Kelli D. Turner has turned her dream into reality with Kelli Diane Designs. She creates handbags for us based on her extensive history of loving and often buying every sort of purse she could afford (which is not always exactly easy when you’re in college and living on Ramen Noodles – I know this). But like any woman knows, as you get older your craving for quality increases. Turner realized that she wanted to spend her time doing something she had a genuine passion for doing. Enter, her love affair with bags! Merging fashionable vision with care, Turner makes handbags to covet. (Especially like the charmingly classic Uptown Hobo in brown, seen above.)
Merging fashionable vision with care, Turner makes handbags to covet.
The She’s Smart Appeal: It’s probably not a MAJOR surprise for you all to learn that I love all sorts of purses – from big bags to clutches. I pretty much want them all! I even once bought a shockingly bright patent leather lavender hobo bag with special trim that I almost never carried around, but still loved seeing on my wall-o-purses. Now, clutches are are great purse option because they’re big enough just for the essentials (my essentials include: ... Read More
