We drink orange juice in the morning out of habit. But it might actually have more to it than that. That good ol’ Vitamin C is so important. And why is VC so good? Lots of studies show it can improve mental clarity and even your mood. Citrus fruits wake up your mind. They can also wake up your body. And even the aroma of a citrus fruit will work.
I hate waking up early, but the one thing I know to do is drag myself into a hot shower right away. The one thing I’ve learned that can help me from just standing there under the water and ‘thinking’ is to use scented bodywash. Because otherwise I seriously will stand there for FAR too long, procrastinating even on washing my hair. It always reminds me of a scene from Family Ties where the youngest blonde daughter gets yelled at for taking such long showers and she announces, “That’s when I THINK!” I can relate.

While doing Couples Retreat interviews with Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell said that she loves Rosebud Salve and the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Stick. While I love lip products with SPF (skin protecting filter!) I really adore Mary Kay Satin Lips, because it really makes my lips feel all moisturized. It moisturizes lips for 6 hours so it’s something to wear while you sleep, if like me, you sleep with a fan on. Then in the day you can wear your SPF lip balm products, yay!

I really did used to love gumballs, and getting the white gumball from a machine was pretty much the worst feeling EVER. But recently I’ve been having all of these headaches which are almost migraines (and sometimes migraines, but not usually). And I gotta tell you, the best feeling is when a constant headache finally goes awaaaaay and I can think again without all of this pressure on my head from a dreaded sinus headache. I’ve tried different over the counter medications for headaches, and even gone to the doctor and gotten prescription medication for migraines. When you have a headache you don’t want to think about any of that, you just want to know what works and how fast you can get it into your system.
Other things I’ve tried have been more homeopathic remedies. A headache cure that I swear by is using my sense of smell to make the headache go bye, bye, bye (N*sync style). When it comes to shoes for fall 09, booties are still hot. Whether you call them a shoebooty or shoe bootie (or ankle boots), they’re cute. Calling them “booties” reminds me of the little booties that babies wear, but no one seems to mind. So, what shoe boots are cute for right now? Urban Outfitters makes great, chic clothing for teens and people in their 20′s. If you aren’t sure of Urban Outfit locations, you can always go to their website Urbn.com. The stores are full of funky jewelry, large leather handbags with fringe, candles that smell like papayas, neon pink alarm clocks shaped like owls, and the kind of clothing that instantly makes you feel more hip. Most urbn outfit dresses are upwards of $60.00, but there is a sale going on right now where tons and tons of dresses are on sale. That seems like a good occasion for shopping – or at least a good occasion to take a look and see what they have.
A lot of these dresses can be worn in the fall as long as you wear some textured tights and a cardigan over them (maybe even a wool hat). Others you may want simply because next Spring similar dresses will be on sale for $60.00 again, and you’ll have missed out on a deal. (Regret sucks, and I feel like I ALWAYS learn this the hard way.)

I’ve loved BCBG from even before what I knew much about the line. Max Azria has a daughter and her bedroom was featured in Seventeen Magazine when I was a teen who got that magazine. All of her clothing was mostly black and white, organized in a huge closet. And her room was mostly all white, except her Dad had encouraged her to paint her bedroom walls yellow… Anyway – I just remember loving her room and wishing my Dad was also a fashion designer. Which…would be hilarious because his idea of style is changing into clean jeans. Cue an eye roll here.
These days, BCBG Max Azria dresses are sought after for their style and fit. I really wish there was a BCBG Max Azria outlet near me, but alas there is not. But, shopping online has perks – like scouring for BCBG sale items!

Billie Piper is someone I loved on Doctor Who, and now I love her on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The show is NOT as dirty as it sounds. It’s not PG, of course. It’s like Sex and the City, and who didn’t love that show? Well some people didn’t. And I didn’t like the Sex and the City movie.. but I digress!
Showtime put together a cute website for Secret Diary of a Call Girl, which included a style section. They show stuff Billie Piper’s character actually wore on the show. And I went through it to show you what stuff on the list is affordable in some way. Most of it is way too much, but you might be surprised at what you can still get. Either way, it’s fun to see the elements of her wardrobe!
